I'm sure the most memorable moment for everyone watching was when PM Lee Hsien Loong's eyes started glaring towards his right, and he collapsed onto his elbow.
I must admit, my heart felt like it stopped. There was a stunned silence in the audience and everywhere really. The next instant the cameraman panned the screen to the audience, WHICH WAS SO MUCH WORSE FOR US WHO ARE WATCHING. People swiped their foreheads, people gasped, they stood up and clapped (presumably because Dr Ng Eng Hen and DPM Teo Chee Hean/ SCDF / Security ran up) - and everyone watching television had to imagine what happened second hand from the audience's reaction.
This brought home a few points for many of us:-
Regardless, let's not speculate. Just keep PM Lee in our prayers alright.
We can wait for the infographs. In the meantime...
PM Lee on Building Our Future
PM Lee on An Inclusive Society
PM Lee on Terrorism and our part to play
PM Lee on our Goals for Singapore's Future
PM Lee on his Wishes, if God granted him 3
Of course my favourite is the past one.
About divine discontent (so we will always strive to be better), while having the wisdom to count our blessings and to appreciate Singapore. Always strive toward a higher goal yeah :')
If you didn't realise, that's 2 wishes out of 3.
There are jokes running around about how strong Singapore's reserves are, such that even wishes have to be reserved just in case something happens xD
I love our country. ♥
Happy Hump Day! (Wednesday)
A few pearls of wisdom from the Guru Warren Buffett today.
Price and Value.
The difference between price and value. - Most simple analogy ever.
If your key consideration is price, you might have considered buying the cheapest shoes that you find are pretty. Maybe $30. But this pair of shoe might fall apart after 5 times (hopefully not a single time) of wearing it out, and every time you wear it, it gives you blisters and pain. For $6 a wear.
On the other hand, you could invest in a pair of branded flats for $500 (trust me, you could get branded flats at around or under $300 for a basic pair). You wear this shoe 50 times. Every time you wear it, it looks awesome, and brings your class up a notch. For $10 a wear.
What would you have chosen?
The following reminders are from @6amsuccess
Warren Buffet On Earning
Never depend on a single income. Make investment to create a second source.
Warren Buffett On Investment
Do not put all eggs in one basket.
Warren Buffett On Taking Risks
Never test the depth of a river with both feet.
Warren Buffett On Saving
Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.
Warren Buffett On Spending
If you buy things you do not need, soon you'll have to sell things you need.
Warren Buffett On Expectations
Honest is a very expensive gift.
Do not expect it from cheap people.
Or fake people I might add.
