Eyebrow Embroidery Touch Up at LA VIDA

12/7/2018

The month since I’d first done eyebrow embroidery (Deluxe Creative Brows) at LA VIDA™ has been so much less stressful in the morning!

The brow specialist (Selina at AMK Hub) told me to expect the color of the embroidery to fade. This will help her better assess how well my skin takes to the natural pigments, and for her to gauge the color density of the pigmentation she needs for my touchup.
The picture on the right that was taken a month after I’ve first done the embroidery, the day before the touch up session. Though the color has faded somewhat, and I didn’t color in my brows, it’s still pretty well-defined.

The process was pretty much the same, except this time it took much less time for her to reframe my brows. Read about the procedure at my previous blog post.

Numbing cream was applied, so I walked around LA VIDA. The ladies were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere around was very relaxed. There were actually two other ladies who were touching up their brows on the same day as well, and they told me they’ve been with LA VIDA for a few years.

I feel that the armchair deserves special mention. You could technically raise the leg rest and be super comfortable, but I didn’t want to obstruct or make it difficult for Selina to do her work, so I sat rather primly. Regardless, the armchair was so comfortable that I fell asleep during the second half of the embroidery session. I was tired of course, but that should really give you a gauge of the pain level you expect to experience during an eyebrow embroidery session.

Similar to the previous time, she started with drawing my brows with a brow pencil to reframe it. I was given a mirror to confirm that was the design I wanted before she started work.

The embroidery is done by hand because firstly, Selina is very experienced, and secondly, it gives her better control of the depth of the incisions.

Pardon the barettes that were carefully stuck on to keep my hair off my face, it’s a closer side view of the process, really nothing much to be afraid of. See how intently Selina does her work.

There was literally, no down time at all.

This photo was taken immediately after the embroidery was completed, and I was drowsy because I had just woken up.

There was no swelling at all, and the brows immediately look natural. There wasn’t a need to wait a week for it to fade, and I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a specialist who is experienced enough and skilled at her craft.

Taken on Day 3 post-touch up, with zero makeup right before I go to bed, the eyebrow embroidery helps me look more “put together” even without makeup. I presume I’ll be scaring less people at the gym :D

The scabbing was lesser this time round (which is a good thing), all is great! The embroidery can last up to 18 – 24 months, depending on how well you take care of it, and differs from person to person.

One of the best beauty decisions I’ve ever made!
