I was recounting the story to my husband about how I used to be "very nice" when I was younger.
How I would do my damned best not to say no in any situation, and would always end up getting bullied by people. I told him I was a very different person.
This proclamation/ mini story was interrupted halfway when he said: "But you ARE STILL nice."
That made me pause and think awhile. Am I still the sucker I was? Am I doomed to always be taken advantage of? Maybe it's time to stop being so nice after all.
As the quote says:
My personality and character is who I am. My attitude depends on who YOU are.
