It may be impossible, but we shouldn't stop striving.

Natural Remedy - Honey and Cinnamon Mask

8/22/2016

Over the weekend (Sunday afternoon actually), there was a small window of time to experiment!

I saw this webpage with 22 home remedies for acne and pesky pimples:
http://everydayroots.com/acne-remedies

So I happen to have everything in this home-DIY mask.
According to the webpage, "honey and cinnamon make a (literally) killer combo when it comes to acne. Cinnamon has antimicrobial properties, so it can help stop bacteria from getting out of hand. If it does, the honey is a natural anti-biotic, ready and waiting to wipe the little buggers out."

Though I currently don't have an acne pimple, i figured prevention might be better than cure? And I was bored xD

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Paper towels (You don't want to use your cloth to wipe the mixture, just use paper towels to clean it up, and wipe down your counter top with a wet cloth after)

Directions:
  1. Just mix until you think it's safe to put on your face. HAHA.
Okay for real:
  1. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together until they are thoroughly           blended and have formed a sort of paste.
  2. Apply the mask to your face (or spot treat) and leave on for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Rinse off completely, and pat your face dry.
  4. This is a sticky mixture, so make sure you have some paper towels at on hand.
Or just get into the shower after you put the mixture on. Be careful not to let it drip onto the floor.

It should look somewhat like this:

Verdict:

It's actually really simple to make, and I doubt you don't have the ingredients needed (if you bake that is).
However, the homemade mask really does still feel like honey after mixing... I wanted to taste the mask before applying it on my face, but I was afraid there would be too much cinnamon taste. I also considered making it a mixture to put into English Breakfast Tea. But I didn't do either of those things.

After application, it seems to "slide" off your face. So maybe spot treatment would have been more appropriate. Difficult to cover the whole face with the mask because it keeps sliding downwards, so I had to constantly swipe it around. Regardless, it was a super nice-smelling homemade mask!

Till the next time I'm free/bored enough to try more homemade beauty products xD
