Tea Session with Aline Santos from Unilever

Yesterday was exciting! 

Narratrs organised a tea session with Aline Santos, Unilever's EVP of Global Marketing and Global Head and Diversity and Inclusion. I mean, Unilever is HUGE. There are over 400 brands under their umbrella, and I bet if you took the time to look at the label behind your normal routine bathing brands, there'll be one from Unilever. In short, completely honoured and humbled to be able to attend the tea session. I LOVE her Gucci red heels. *crush* 

The focus of the discussion was actually about influencer marketing and the experience of influencers working with brands.

I think to a large extent the very popular influencers have their groups and friends because they are invited by the same PR companies and go to the same events all the time. Whereas for someone like me who is fumbling in the dark, most of the time I need to stop and think, and reflect about what I'm doing.
For example, I love shoes, and there is high engagement on my instastories when I have the Keep/Refund poll running - people actually message me to say "PLEASE KEEP THESE SHOES" rather than just voting "Keep" in the poll. - But I can't be posting about shoes all the time right?

But I digress. We learned interesting things during the tea session. For me, I was rather impressed with Aline's story about how Lipton works with influencers to create products that the market wants. So the story goes where the influencers Lipton works with kept telling/asking them why didn't Lipton have a Matcha tea. Naturally you don't expect a brand to create a product just because YOU like it, (someone please create instant Avocado Milkshake so I can have it anytime I crave for it), but they kept up with the feedback. And Lipton LISTENED. It humbling to think you might have that kind of impact.
