In the context of human society, a family (from Latin: familia) is a group of people affiliated either by consanguinity (by recognized birth), affinity (by marriage or other relationship), or co-residence (as implied by the etymology of the English word "family") or some combination of these. There's a reason the word family is one that means the world to me, but at the same time mean nothing to me at all. I've known and seen more kindness from our neighbours in Luxus than supposed family who bully my father. Essentially I think parents set the tone for a family. Or rather, parents determine what kind of people their offspring become. As teachers like to secretly say, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". There was this case a few years back when a student was reportedly rude to many subject teachers. But when the form teacher called the parents to "discuss" about the issue, the teacher found that the father himself talks in the same manner. Lousy people should be told never to become parents. My grandparents' bias towards their oldest and youngest sons (not my dad), is what led to their sense of entitlement and selfishness, and the constant bullying of my parents. If being an asshole were illegal, they'd be serving time for the rest of their lives. Comments are closed.
